Reason for visit

Evaluation of gradually worsening left knee stiffness that is limiting walking distance and is most noticeable on stairs.

Relevant history

The right knee was replaced previously and remains asymptomatic. The patient reports no recent injury to either knee.

Findings and imaging

Examination and current imaging support unilateral primary osteoarthritis of the left knee.

Assessment and plan

Left knee primary osteoarthritis; begin a focused strengthening program. Right artificial knee joint status, stable. The exercise plan is adjusted to protect the prosthetic right side.
